Conversations about belonging, identity, displacement, and the inner life.
The subjects I speak about have developed naturally from the intersection of my personal history, clinical work, academic study, writing, and teaching.
Some are deeply personal, some are psychological and some sit at the edges of consciousness.
What connects them is my interest in how we make sense of ourselves and our place in the world.
Belonging as a human need
What does it mean to belong?
Is belonging something other people give us, or something we participate in creating?
And what happens when displacement, rejection, cultural change, or major life transitions disrupt our sense of where we fit?
I explore belonging as both a psychological and communal process and as something that can influence the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and participate in life.
Displacement, identity, and finding home again
Displacement changes more than where we live.
It can change how we understand ourselves.
Drawing on my own experience of displacement and my professional work, I explore what happens when our sense of home, identity, and belonging is disrupted and what it can take to rebuild those things.
Adlerian psychology in contemporary practice
Adlerian psychology offers a powerful way of thinking about purpose, relationships, courage, belonging, and the way we develop our understanding of ourselves.
I am particularly interested in how Adlerian ideas can be brought into contemporary therapeutic practice without reducing them to theory.
The inner development of the practitioner
Learning therapeutic techniques is only one part of becoming a practitioner.
What happens inside the practitioner matters too.
I speak about therapeutic presence, self-awareness, professional responsibility, and the ongoing personal development required to work deeply with other people.
Transpersonal exploration
Human experience doesn't always fit neatly into psychological categories.
I also speak about transpersonal work, consciousness, spirituality, and experiences that invite us to question where conventional psychological explanations end and other ways of understanding experience begin.
These conversations require curiosity without losing discernment.
Recent & ongoing
I regularly lead workshops and masterclasses through 縁 En, my practitioner and client community.
My talks and workshops can be adapted for conferences, professional training, educational settings, podcasts, and community events.
If one of these themes fits what you are creating, I'd be happy to hear from you.
